Cubes of mud
My arms are so tired. I've been working my ass off. Going to try and relax a bit today. So I'll probably do dust piggies and I want to make another door snake, maybe some painting. And my other project that I want to work on needs doing too. Yeah probably not doing to relax too much. Lazinest/ complacency is the enemy of creativity. That and educational establishments. Arf arf. Listening to Miles Davis in bed at the moment. Good way to start the day.

what i tried to do to day and some sky photos i took, can't take credit for that canvas though.
I did a painting today but that is about it. exhausted on the tail end of some crappy virus. went out to see richard and ran lines with him while he worked. did a bit of drawing and fell asleep in front of the fire. then came home, took some photos and slept through dinner. then got up and ate and finished a new painting, then will do a bit of drawing before bed. trying to rest, even though i want to constantly make stuff.

chicken rice cat face
accidental chicken rice cat face. new cube. testing piece of clay. and the sun that turned up and i was very grateful for. had a weird dream last night where a tree was growing out of a seed caught in my teeth. it was more awkward than anything.

Crab apple jelly
from 0 to 30
I was working on nothing. aimlessly poking at work that should have long been given up on. and suddenly got bitten by the painting bug. i've now got 30+ small canvasses on the go and i've been working like stink. suddenly i'm back in the zone and i just finished painting at 2:30am.
I can literally feel electricity surging through my muscles and have a huge feeling of elation. it's good to feel it again. thank crokey.

A side order of guff please
Painting again today without results. Bold contrast against muted tones. I don't think I've been painting music since December but still using the same motifs. I wanted to break away from it, but I can't seem to develop a way of painting people without painting people. It's a really lazy way of painting because people are everywhere but there isn't anything absurdly beautiful in people. I want to paint birds but I don't want that to be lazy either. So instead of working on stuff that works I'm banging my head against a brick wall and wondering why I've got a headache. I had cheese and soup for lunch.

Pancake and dust piggies update.
Had some good pancakes. Lemon and sugar. Good stuff. But remember the reason behind shrove Tuesday:
In the 1920's Napoleon and his cronies destroyed loads of the eggs and milk because they thought they were 'too obvious'. So no one could have any pudding, eventually they got some from this old man and they ate all the pancakes. Then they found out that the old man had laid them himself and milk was from him too. So they smashed up the old man's cave and then the man turned out to be a ghost and then napoleon started freaking out about the ghost and blew up the village. The name of that village? Shrove. Hence the reason for shrove Tuesday.

Los tacos son tan buenos para comer
Monday, February 15, 2010
i've been eating mexican food the last two days
and it has been phenomenal. fajitas yesterday, tacos today. i'm think enchiladas tomorrow. but i'm not sure how much i want to tempt my stomach into having an ulcer. i've been working on a painting that gave me quite a lot of gyp for a while. i'm trying to coax it but not bully it. but i don't really know how it's going. it was started before i started using the right drawing tools again, so i don't know. after this one i'm going to steer deeply into new territory. but also old territory. gadzooks. such contradiction and mystery.
