Bup

So I painted a little bit today, and it was better so I just painted a small amount and then scanned 150 new dust piggies. Which took ages. I'm going to do a small amount every day until it starts going ok again. So small steps in the right direction.

Bullshit

Set my new studio. Started painting. Got stuck on background work again. Having a mild nervous breakdown. Whatever that actually means. I'm stuck on the back work for 3 fucking paintings. I want to abandon them. I want to go in a different painting direction, but there is no point doing that if I can paint in this direction. Otherwise further abstraction is just laziness.

Awe-some.

Went to look at the Quentin Blake exhibition and then went to the Picasso exhibition.

Beautiful dream

I fell asleep for 20 minutes this morning, and had a beautiful lucid dream of these 4 trees in red soil and sand in the middle o nowhere, I was listening to music and it played over the top in a weird disjointed way. It was amazingly beautiful.

Older and very slightly wiser

Feeling upbeat about being 29. Not really that bothered now. Which is good really.

Things I've learnt this year:

1. If your girlfriend doesn't like the colour 'mushroom' then your sofas will NOT be mushroom coloured.

2. Lampshades are expensive.

3. Uh, some supermarket sushi is not as nice as others.

4. Hmmm. Uh. Um. Skyrim is a good game. Brilliant.

5. I'm not that much wiser than I was before?

And that concludes what I remember learning this year.

ugh.

i'm 29 tomorrow. and feeling down and introspective. there are lots of people who have come and gone, especially the last 5 years. there actually are very few i don't miss. i feel hollow today. i don't know why i blogged about it.
