Junk food reading
The problem with putting words on this blog is that if I'm not doing anything it is a sinfully boring waste of time. So I'm not going to write on here for a bit, so it'll have to be a journal where language is circumnavigated and I'll have do stuff other than photograph my lunch and the sky and moan about how I haven't been painting.
In the spirit of this new resolve here is a photo of my lunch and the sky

Painting again
aha! painting.
i'm like the dude off water colour challenge (never seen it) in that i have been using water colours to overcome the inability to paint. watch this space. actually don't. i don't want to be responsible for eye damage. unless you deserve it. in which case when you get to the opticians tell them mike sent you.
this is a photo of me standing on the roof of the biggest gay club in brighton at 2am.

(doors lyric that was causing confusion being on here that I've removed as a title)
Actually no I didn't, i had a coffee, but I did wake up with that song in my head. Which was odd because I haven't really listened to the doors in a long time. At the time of writing I am about to have breakfast. I need to rethink my painting strategy. I'm thinking of water colours for a bit while my studio remains to be the coldest place on earth (it's called exaggeration and we all do it). If it were not for my sporting injury I would brave the cold happily, but currently it is not a possibility.

Lousy ink pen.
Calligraphy pens are such lousy bastards. I tried to paint as much as I could today. Needed to get something done, just for positivity, but the 'new' pen I bought the other day broke the minute I tried to use it. Piece of crap. Then I tried to change the nib in old faithful, my existing favourite bur decrepit pen. And it didn't survive. I think I'm going to quit being a painter and learn to whittle canoes.

Web comics
Web comics are brilliant. You get to publish a comic to wear people could see it like you couldn't before. I've been a comic book writer and illustrator for over 20 years. Starting with my 'Trevor and Audrey' comic. I created a huge number of comics at school, inspired by a school friend, about inventive ways to kill people. We filled hundreds of pages with anvils and shark pits. Awesome. In the Middle period a friend and I came up with the lost treasure "dr stavros and the 8 mcquars". A horror comedy about a sexy professor who invents an 8 headed monster with 8 different personalities. Later I went comic wise with the high art sex show, which was less linear in narrative content, along with mr salty's icecreamatorium. The mr salty comic was the first Webcomic, but much of it was done on the computer for ease, while based on real life drawings. Now the dust piggies is going strong, having appeared in print and as a web comic. It is exciting the thought that people would be able to create autobiographical illustrative archives and explosions of imagination, and everything on a 360• axis. The wonders of the world.
