Seasons of the Dan (2009)

During the past year I have been exploring making marks with colour in reaction to the memories attached to various pieces of music, then giving the marks a more linear narrative with naive line drawing. These three-dimensional forms, based around the music of Steely Dan, were built from slabs of clay, decorated with coloured slips and finished with a clear glaze fired to 1140°C in oxidization.
